USAGE:
ジャンプ is used both as a noun and as a suru-verb: ジャンプする (to jump). The native equivalent is 跳(と)ぶ/飛(と)ぶ for the verb. ジャンプ is preferred in sports terminology (figure skating jumps, ski jumping) and casual contexts.

Also appears in the name of the manga magazine 週刊(しゅうかん)少年ジャンプ (Weekly Shonen Jump).
