mixed bathing, coed bathing
Bathing in which men and women share the same bath at the same time. Historically common at Japanese hot springs, mixed bathing has become increasingly rare in modern Japan as social norms have changed, but it still exists at some traditional onsen.

Some mixed baths require bathers to wear a towel or bathing garment. The opposite is 男女別 (gender-separated).
