To do something that causes a problem or mess, typically a serious mistake, scandal, or embarrassing incident. Almost always used for negative outcomes. The subject may or may not have intended the result.
とんでもないことを()でかした。
I did something terrible.
(かれ)がまた(なに)()でかしたらしい。
It seems he's gone and done something again.
(おお)きな失敗(しっぱい)()でかして、会社(かいしゃ)多大(ただい)迷惑(めいわく)をかけてしまった。

()でかす is a transitive godan verb (conjugates: ()でかさない, ()でかして, etc.).

USAGE: This verb is almost exclusively used for negative actions — mistakes, scandals, accidents, or other troublesome deeds. It carries a strong nuance of exasperation or dismay. Common in spoken Japanese and news reporting.

ASPECT (ている):
Rarely used in the ている form since it describes a completed action.
