To fail at writing something correctly, resulting in an error. Often used for handwritten documents, addressing envelopes, or calligraphy. The ～損じる pattern means 'to fail at doing ~'.
宛名を書き損じた。
I made a mistake writing the address.
年賀状を書き損じて、新しいはがきに書き直した。
I messed up the New Year's card and rewrote it on a new postcard.

GRAMMAR:
Ichidan verb. The ～損じる pattern attaches to the masu-stem of another verb to mean "to fail at doing ~." This is a slightly more formal variant of ～損なう.

COMMON COLLOCATIONS:

NOTE:
