1. to be firm, to be steady, to be solid

For something to be stable, secure, or well-constructed. Used for physical objects or abstract things like foundations and structures.

この棚(たな)はしっかりしている。

This shelf is sturdy.

Used as encouragement or a command telling someone to regain composure, focus, or strength.
