To look at someone or something with an intense, hostile, or intimidating gaze. Stronger and more aggressive than simply looking hard at something.
相手(あいて)(にら)みつける。
To glare at the opponent.
先生(せんせい)(にら)みつけられて、(だま)ってしまった。
The teacher glared at me and I fell silent.
(ねこ)(まど)(そと)(とり)(にら)みつけて(うご)かなかった。
The cat fixed its gaze on the bird outside the window and didn't move.

USAGE:
An intensified form of (にら)む (to glare). The ~つける ending adds the nuance of directing the gaze firmly and fixedly at a target. Typically takes the particle を to mark the person or thing being glared at.
