For a liquid, gas, steam, or the like to burst forth forcefully from an opening. Used for sweat, blood, water, lava, and similar.

Usage

Sense 1 stresses a forceful, eruptive emergence. For the "burst out laughing" meaning, the spelling 吹(ふ)き出(だ)す is also common.
