Usage
Often used with する to form the verb 清算する. Sense 1 is a financial/business term. Sense 2 is a figurative extension commonly used for ending relationships or resolving past issues.
Note: Not to be confused with 精算 (fare adjustment, exact calculation) or 生産 (production). All three are homophones.
