Used to indicate that a state continues or an expected action has not occurred. More formal than まだ.
問題(もんだい)は未(いま)だ解決(かいけつ)していない。
The problem has not yet been resolved.
原因(げんいん)は未(いま)だ不明(ふめい)だ。
The cause is still unknown.
彼(かれ)からは未(いま)だに連絡(れんらく)がない。
I still haven't heard from him.

Also written as 未(いま)だ or 今(いま)だ. Used in formal writing and speech.
