An honorific used to refer to another person's daughter, especially one from a respected or wealthy family. Never used for one's own daughter — use (むすめ) instead.

Also commonly appears in the title of light novels and manga in the genre pattern 悪役令嬢(あくやくれいじょう) (villainess daughter), referring to a female antagonist from a noble family in otome game or isekai stories.
