The taking in and paying out of money, and the keeping of records of those transactions. Used mainly in accounting and administrative contexts.

毎日(まいにち)出納帳(すいとうちょう)をつけている。
I keep a cashbook every day.
経理(けいり)担当者(たんとうしゃ)毎月(まいつき)出納(すいとう)()めて報告(ほうこく)する。
The accounting staff close the books each month and report the receipts and payments.

Note the irregular reading: (すい) (not しゅつ). From (すい) (out) + (とう) (take in).

COMMON COLLOCATIONS:
