アダプター

アダプター is a loanword from English "adapter" - a device that connects or converts between different systems.

COMMON TYPES:

• ACアダプター: AC adapter (power supply)
• 電源(でんげん)アダプター: power adapter
• 変換(へんかん)アダプター: conversion adapter
• USBアダプター: USB adapter
• 旅行(りょこう)用(よう)アダプター: travel adapter (for outlets)
• 充電(じゅうでん)アダプター: charging adapter

COMMON PATTERNS:

• アダプターを使(つか)う: to use an adapter
• アダプターを持(も)っていく: to bring an adapter
• アダプターを忘(わす)れる: to forget the adapter

TRAVEL NOTE:
Japan uses Type A/B plugs (same as US). Travelers from Europe or UK need a 変換(へんかん)アダプター.
