2. to spend (money, time)
To expend resources. お(かね)使(つか)う (to spend money), 時間(じかん)使(つか)う (to spend time).
(かね)使(つか)う。
I spend money.
I spent too much time.
I spent too much money this month.
I spent a lot of money on the trip.
I spent all my savings to buy a new computer. I have no regrets.

TRANSITIVITY: 他動詞(たどうし) (transitive). No pair verb. Pattern: Xを使(つか)う (use X).

ASPECT: ている indicates ongoing action. 使(つか)っている = 'is using.'
