A supplementary building that is separate from but belongs to the same institution as the main building. Used for hotels, museums, hospitals, and other facilities with multiple structures.

A secondary building belonging to the same institution as the main building (本館(ほんかん)). Very common at Japanese hotels, where the 別館(べっかん) may have a different character or price range from the main building.
