A water outlet installed on a street or inside a building that firefighters connect hoses to in order to fight fires. Formed from 消火 (extinguishing fire) and 栓 (plug, valve).
道のそばに消火栓がある。
There is a fire hydrant by the road.

You must not park your car in front of a fire hydrant.

The firefighters connected the hose to the fire hydrant and began spraying water.
