Usage

In speech 印刷(いんさつ)する is the everyday verb; 刷(す)る is common in publishing and in compounds: 刷(す)り上(あ)がる (to come off the press), 増刷(ぞうさつ) (reprint), 版画(はんが)を刷(す)る (to print a woodblock).

Watch out

する is also the verb "to do" and 擦(す)る (to rub, to strike a match). In writing the kanji tells them apart; in speech, context does.
