Usage: Almost always appears in the fixed expression 沽券に関わる (to affect one's dignity/reputation). Rarely used outside this expression.
Etymology: Originally a deed of sale recording the price of land or a house. From "price, value" it came to mean a person's worth, and so their dignity.
Nuance: 沽券に関わる is used when something threatens one's professional pride, personal honor, or self-respect. 男の沽券に関わる is a common phrase.
