しまった
interjection
oh no!; darn it!
1. oh no!, darn it!, oops!
An exclamation used when one realizes a mistake has been made or something has gone wrong. Expresses regret or dismay at something that has already happened.

Oh no, I forgot!
しまった、(かぎ)をかけ(わす)れた。

Derived from the past tense of 仕舞(しま)う (to finish/put away), but used independently as an interjection. The literal sense is that something undesirable has been completed and cannot be undone.

Used when reacting to one's own mistakes or oversights. Can be said aloud or as an internal thought.
