USAGE:
ナッツ is the standard loanword for nuts as a food category. Individual nut types also use loanwords: アーモンド (almond), カシューナッツ (cashew), マカダミアナッツ (macadamia), ピーナッツ (peanut). The native word 木の実 also means nuts/tree nuts but has a broader meaning that includes acorns and other non-edible seeds.
