A room designated for private use, as opposed to a shared or open space. Common in restaurants, hospitals, hotels, and other facilities.
In Japanese restaurants, 個室 are popular for business dinners, dates, and group gatherings where privacy is desired. In hospitals, 個室 typically cost more than shared wards (大部屋).
