COMPARISON WITH 終了:
Both are read しゅうりょう but have different meanings:
- 修了: completing a course of study (the {修} kanji means "to study/master")
- 終了: ending or finishing (general sense — the {終} kanji means "to end")
In academic contexts, 修了 is used for completing a course or program (especially graduate school), while 卒業 is for graduating from a school.
