Important Cultural Property
A category of protected cultural assets designated by the Japanese government under the Act on Protection of Cultural Properties. Includes buildings, artworks, crafts, and other historically or artistically significant objects. Often abbreviated as 重文.

Many Important Cultural Properties are displayed in the museum.

Abbreviated as 重文 in everyday use and media. Part of a tiered system: items of exceptional importance may be further elevated to 国宝 (National Treasure).
