The amount of product inside a package, excluding the weight of the container or packaging itself. Printed on food labels, beverage bottles, and product packaging as required by law.
Usage
A standard term found on virtually all food and beverage product labels in Japan. Required by the Measurement Act (計量法). When companies reduce the amount of product while keeping the price the same (a practice called shrinkflation), consumers often check the 内容量 to notice the change.
