Often implies negative judgment

I didn't think it would be that expensive.

あんなに = to that extent

あんな所(ところ)に行(い)きたくない。

I don't want to go to a place like that.

あんな大(おお)きい家(いえ)に住(す)みたいなあ。

I wish I could live in a big house like that.

あんなふうに上手(じょうず)に踊(おど)れるようになりたいです。

あんな often carries a negative or dismissive nuance, especially about people (あんな人(ひと)).
