Used to express where someone lives or resides. Takes the particle に to mark the location of residence.
東京(とうきょう)()んでいます。
I live in Tokyo.
日本(にほん)()みたいです
I want to live in Japan.
When I was a child, I lived in Osaka.
It's convenient because I live near the station.
It's my first time living alone, so I'm a little worried.

TRANSITIVITY: 自動詞(じどうし) (intransitive). No pair verb. Pattern: Xに()む (live in X).

ASPECT: ている indicates resulting state. ()んでいる = 'is living/resides' (current residence state). This form is standard for expressing where one lives.
