マンション

まんしょん
noun
condominium
1. condominium, apartment building
A larger, modern concrete apartment building, often owner-occupied. Despite coming from English 'mansion,' it doesn't mean a large house.
I bought a new condominium.
このマンション10階建(かいだ)です
This building is 10 stories tall.
I pay the condo management fee every month.
My friend lives in a tall condominium in front of the station.
このマンション(ちく)十年(じゅうねん)ですきれいに管理(かんり)されています
This condominium is ten years old, but it's well maintained.

マンション is a 'false friend' from English 'mansion.' In Japan, it refers to a reinforced concrete apartment/condominium building, NOT a large house.
