通知表(つうちひょう)

Usage

Handed to pupils at the end of each term (学期(がっき)), usually on the last day before a vacation. Elementary schools typically grade each subject in three levels (よくできる / できる / もうすこし); junior and senior high schools use a five-point scale. It also records attendance and the homeroom teacher's comments.
