To feel completely dominated or overcome by something far greater in power, scale, or intensity. Can describe being impressed to the point of speechlessness, or being defeated by a stronger force.

Usage

圧倒(あっとう)される is the passive form of 圧倒(あっとう)する. It is far more commonly used than the active form in everyday speech. The particle に marks what overwhelms the speaker.
