瀬戸内海(せとないかい)夕凪(ゆうなぎ)(なつ)になると(とく)()(あつ)くなる。
The evening calm of the Seto Inland Sea becomes especially hot and humid in summer.

A meteorological and literary term. (なぎ) means a calm or lull in the wind, especially at sea. In coastal areas, the land-sea breeze cycle causes a brief period of stillness around sunset — this is 夕凪(ゆうなぎ). The counterpart is 朝凪(あさなぎ) (morning calm). In the 瀬戸内海(せとないかい) (Seto Inland Sea) region, 夕凪(ゆうなぎ) is especially associated with oppressive summer heat because the wind stops completely.
