The flowing in of water, people, money, goods, or information from outside. Used for both physical flows (rivers, water) and abstract ones (capital, population, foreign influence).

USAGE:
A formal term used in news, economics, and scientific writing. The opposite is 流出 (outflow). Often used with する as a suru verb.
