USAGE:
The nominal form of the verb 盛(も)る (to heap, to serve). Very commonly used in compound forms: 大(おお)盛(も)り (large serving), 普通(ふつう)盛(も)り (regular serving), 特(とく)盛(も)り (extra-large serving). At restaurants, 盛(も)りがいい means the portions are generous. Also used for the visual presentation of food (盛(も)り付(つ)け = plating).
