USAGE:
直後(ちょくご) is a noun meaning "immediately after" and is commonly followed by the particle に. It can also modify nouns directly: 地震(じしん)直後(ちょくご)の混乱(こんらん) (the confusion right after the earthquake).

CONTRAST:

  • 直前(ちょくぜん)に (immediately before) is the opposite
