The continuous high line of a mountain ridge, where the slopes on either side meet. 筋(すじ) adds the sense of a line or course running along the ridge.

尾根筋(おねすじ)を歩(ある)く。

To walk along the ridge.

The trail runs along the ridge line.

When we reached the ridge line, the wind was strong and we could see the valleys on both sides.

The crest line of a mountain ridge. Common in hiking and mapping contexts, where trails and boundaries often follow it.
