The two of them started dating last month.
彼女と付き合い始めてから半年になる。
It's been half a year since I started going out with her.
同じサークルの仲間と付き合い始めてから、週末が楽しくなった。
Since I started spending time with friends from the same club, my weekends have become more fun.
TRANSITIVITY: Intransitive ichidan verb. The partner is marked with と: (person)と付き合い始める. A compound of 付き合う plus the auxiliary 始める (to begin doing).
USAGE:
- Most often means to enter a romantic relationship, but can also mean simply to begin associating with people or a group.
- The plain past 付き合い始めた is common when stating when a relationship began.
