Past tense = current state of tiredness

TRANSITIVITY: 自動詞(じどうし) (intransitive). No pair verb. Pattern: Xが(つか)れる (X gets tired).

ASPECT: ている indicates resulting state. (つか)れている = 'is tired' (state of tiredness). Past (つか)れた also expresses current tiredness.
