1.
everyone; ladies and gentlemen
A polite way of addressing or referring to a group of people. More formal than みなさん, commonly used in announcements, speeches, and formal writing.
Good morning, everyone.
I am grateful for everyone's cooperation.
I wish everyone good health and happiness.
皆様 is the honorific form of みなさん, using 様 instead of さん.
FORMALITY LEVELS:
- 皆様: everyone (formal/honorific)
WHERE USED:
Standard in business emails, public announcements, formal speeches, and customer-facing communication. Using みなさん in these contexts would sound too casual.
COMMON COLLOCATIONS:
- 皆様へ: to everyone (letter/email opening)
- お客様皆様: all of our customers
I wish everyone good health (closing formula)
