The part of the leg just below the kneecap, or — most commonly — the length of clothing or footwear that reaches to just below the knee. Used in clothing measurements and fashion descriptions.

Compound of 膝(ひざ) (knee) + 下(した) (below). The same characters can also be read ひざもと in formal/literary contexts (meaning 'at one's knee' or 'in one's care'), but ひざした is the common reading in modern use.
