To lose one's balance and fall to the ground. Used when a person trips, slips, or otherwise falls while walking or standing.
道(みち)で転(ころ)んでしまいました。
I fell down on the street.
てしまう adds regret or emphasis
子供(こども)が転(ころ)んで泣(な)いています。
The child fell down and is crying.
気(き)をつけて。転(ころ)ばないでね。
Be careful. Don't fall.
Negative request

TRANSITIVITY: 自動詞(じどうし) (intransitive). Pair: 転(ころ)がす (transitive, to roll something). Pattern: Xが転(ころ)ぶ.

ASPECT: ている indicates resulting state or ongoing. 転(ころ)んでいる = 'has fallen (and is on the ground)' or 'is falling.'

COMMON PATTERNS:
