The group of people who support a particular proposal, plan, or position. Almost always used in contrast with 反対派, the opposing camp, when describing how opinion on an issue is divided.
Formed from 賛成 (agreement, approval) plus the suffix 〜派 (faction, camp). It names a group of people, not an opinion, so it takes verbs of counting and dividing rather than verbs of thinking.
