USAGE:
A godan verb (五段動詞) ending in -ru. Not to be confused with the ichidan verb 閉める (to close) or 締める (to tighten). Often used in the ~ている form to describe a current damp state.
The transitive counterpart is 湿らせる (to dampen, to moisten).
COMMON COLLOCATIONS:
- 空気が湿る: the air gets humid
