確固たる地位を築くまでに長い年月がかかった。
It took many years to build a firmly established position.
USAGE:
Almost always used in the forms 確固たる (before nouns) or 確固として (adverbially). This is a たる-adjective and does not take な. Very formal and literary in tone.
