The お prefix is standard and rarely dropped. A comfort food strongly associated with illness recovery and gentle eating. Also eaten for the 七草粥 tradition on January 7th.

七草粥 (seven-herb rice porridge) is eaten on January 7th to rest the stomach after New Year's feasting and to pray for good health.
