An established set of technical requirements or criteria that products, services, or processes must meet. Used for industrial standards, quality standards, and technical specifications.
この製品(せいひん)は国際(こくさい)規格(きかく)に適合(てきごう)している。
This product conforms to international standards.
安全(あんぜん)規格(きかく)を満(み)たさない商品(しょうひん)は販売(はんばい)できない。
Products that don't meet safety standards cannot be sold.
各国(かっこく)で充電器(じゅうでんき)の規格(きかく)が異(こと)なるため、海外旅行(かいがいりょこう)には変換(へんかん)アダプターが必要(ひつよう)だ。
Since charger standards differ by country, you need a conversion adapter for overseas travel.

USAGE:
Common in business, manufacturing, and technology contexts. Japan's main standards body is JIS (日本産業規格(にほんさんぎょうきかく), Japanese Industrial Standards).
