strikethrough line; deletion line
A horizontal line drawn through text to indicate deletion or correction. Used in both handwritten documents and digital text formatting.
In formal Japanese documents (especially official forms), mistakes are corrected by drawing a 二重線 (double line) through the error and stamping the correction with a personal seal (訂正印). Simple erasure is not acceptable on official documents.
