A colloquial contraction of どちらか, used when choosing between two options. Can function as a question ('which one?') or as a statement ('one of the two').

A colloquial contraction of どちらか (which one of the two; either one). Very common in casual spoken Japanese. The full form どちらか is used in polite or formal speech.

The expression どっちかと言(い)えば (if I had to say which; if anything) is an extremely common hedging phrase used to express a mild preference.
