To give something to the speaker or someone close to the speaker. Shows the giver's viewpoint and often implies gratitude from the receiver.
When my friend caught a cold, my mother made soup for them.
～てくれる pattern showing favor
TRANSITIVITY: 他動詞 (transitive). No pair verb. Pattern: XがYにZをくれる (X gives Z to Y [me/us]).
ASPECT: ている indicates ongoing or repeated action. くれている = 'is giving' or 'has been giving.'
COMMON PATTERNS:
- 本をくれる (give me a book)
- 〜てくれる (do ~ for me - favor)
