スープ (from English 'soup') refers to Western-style soups, and also to the broth or liquid base of a dish — most commonly ラーメンのスープ, the soup of a bowl of ramen.

Verb choice: Japanese treats スープ as something you drink, not something you eat. Use 飲(の)む, not 食(た)べる, even when eating it with a スプーン. This applies to Japanese soups too (味噌汁(みそしる)を飲(の)む).
