サプリ

さぷり
noun
dietary supplement
health
1. dietary supplement; vitamin pill
A vitamin, mineral, or herbal product taken to make up for something missing in the diet. Short for サプリメント, and the form used in ordinary conversation.
I take supplements every morning.
野菜(やさい)不足(ぶそく)サプリ(おぎな)っている
I'm making up for my lack of vegetables with supplements.
Supplements are only a supplement, so you should start by reviewing your diet.

A clipping of サプリメント (from English "supplement"). Japanese frequently shortens four-mora-plus loanwords this way; the long form survives on packaging and in advertising.
