A flightless seabird of the family Spheniscidae found mainly in the Southern Hemisphere, known for its distinctive black and white coloring and upright waddle.

POPULAR IN JAPAN: Penguins are extremely popular in Japanese zoos and aquariums. The Nagasaki Penguin Aquarium (長崎ペンギン水族館) has the most penguin species in Japan. Many zoos hold "ペンギンパレード" (penguin parades) where visitors can watch penguins walk.
