洗濯(せんたく)ばさみ

洗濯(せんたく)ばさみ is a clothespin or clothes peg. Formation: 洗濯(せんたく) 'laundry' + ばさみ, the compounding form of 挟(はさ)む 'to pinch, to hold between'. Also written 洗濯挟(せんたくばさみ) or 洗濯鋏(せんたくばさみ), but the mixed form is standard.

• ステンレス製(せい): stainless steel, which survives the sun
